Locks of Love

Meggers decided she wants to grow her hair out for Locks Of Love “a non-profit organization that provides hair pieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis”  I was so proud that she wanted to do it and it was something she’d actually thought about.  Apparently she’d heard about it at school last year when some of the grades donated hair.

She needs to have at least 10 inches of hair  to donate and right now she’s at about 6-7 inches.  She’s super excited about being able to make another kid smile with her hair.   She asked me why some kids don’t have hair and I explained some kids have Alopecia and some are taking medicines that make their hair fall out.  Every night in the bath she puts her head back and asks me if it’s long enough yet and I always tell her Almost!  I’ll be sure to post pics when we go to get her hair cut.

So next time you or someone you know takes their child to the hairdressers to trade their long, gorgeous locks for that cute bob, remember “Locks Of Love” and take the time to make a child smile.

  1. What a sweet little girl. My kids just can’t seem to get their hair long enough for this wonderful charity. I’m so glad there are girls like Meggers willing to help.

Unfortunately, my stupid computer is blocking tons of images through McAfee so all I get is a McAfee image. Usually I can click on it and see it, but nooooo, not today. I didn’t get to see Meggers beautiful face and hair. [pout!]
