Where I live there’s not much chance of… wait! Absolutely no chance of snow. Yep that means no snowmen, no crazy bets about making snow angels in my underwear, no cute photos of the kids in their snowsuits having snowball fights and sledding. Sigh! I mean technically I could get out the snow cone machine, but the motor would give before we got enough snow for any of the for-mentioned activities. So you can imagine how super excited I was when I stumbled upon this cool snowman activity over at Scrumdilly-do (definitely check out this site for some great craft and food ideas). The best part was absolutely no snow required. Here’s all you need…
1 Pyrex Dish
1 Grater
1 bar of Ivory Soap
1 roll of toilet paper
Some warm water and an area you don’t mind getting messy.
First take turns grating your Ivory soap into the Pyrex dish (a plastic grater might be better for younger kids).
Then tear up some toilet paper an cover the soap (you do not need a whole roll or you’ll end up with very nice smelling, oversized spitballs).
Finally add some warm water (start out with less you can always add more) and have the kiddo’s mush it around until it’s a nice gushy texture that you can mold. Make a ball and take one sheet of toilet paper, wrap it around the ball and roll until a snowy looking texture.
Here’s our snowman taking shape. You can use whatever you want to decorate him. We had some googly eyes, pipe cleaners and my sister crafted a cute hat out of paper.
And TA DAAAA! Here’s the end result a super cute snowman!
Meggers made a baby snowman that seemed to have a little attitude. He looks like he’s saying WHAT?! Faux Snow in the Hiz-ouse!
We ended up putting them inside cupcake papers and setting them on the windowsil.
Hmmmm what was my sister’s cute little angel doing while we were busy making snowmen? Look at this cute face what could he possibly get up too?
Oooh, Ummmm…. I guess he’d had enough of daddy and decided to turn him into a human sausage. Funny thing… my sister ended up taking the tunnel home. Wonder what she’ll use it for? lol
Snowmen in Florida? How cute is that!

The snowmen look perfect! Great project. I think my girls will be old enough for this next year, I’m gonna keep this one in mind, heheh.
I love the lost shot 😉 .
Btw, thanks for the linky love!
