Our 4th of July double celebration!

The forth of July is a time to reflect on the sacrifices that have been made for our freedom and to celebrate America’s Declaration of Independence.

It’s usually celebrated with great food…

It”s a time when families come together…

With some of our family out of town we decided to celebrate my mums birthday, usually on the 3rd, on the 4th too.

Happy Birthday Mum! I love you!

After cake, tea and scones with fresh cream, blueberries and strawberries the boys beat each other up on the PS3.

and we went outside to watch the fireworks.  I couldn’t seem to get the timing right, seriously this is the best shot.  Yep, I totally tried to jazz it up with a red border. You think this is pitiful?  You should see the worst one. ~grin~

  1. Happy birthday to your mum!
Our search of fireworks was diverted by traffic and then police closing down the park, so we dodged into the nearest apt complex, parked, and watched from their parking lot. Sneaky us! Love the photos!

  2. Aww, happy belated birthday to your mom (mum?) whichever. We didn’t leave the house on the 4th since the kids go to bed at 7 but maybe next year we’ll get out for some fireworks. Or the year after.
