Happy Thanksgiving 2010

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!

Here’s a great Thanksgiving Day poem that captures the meaning of turkey day for me and a few of my favorite turkey day quotes

More Than A Day

 As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we’re poor,
Feel like bums, insecure,
But in truth, our riches astound.

So add up your blessings, I say;
Make Thanksgiving last more than a day.
Enjoy what you’ve got;
Realize it’s a lot,
And you’ll make all your cares go away.

~By Karl Fuchs~

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”

~John Fitzgerald Kennedy~

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice

 ~Meister Eckhart~

Forever on Thanksgiving Day
The heart will find the pathway home.

~Wilbur D. Nesbit~

Some hae meat and canna eat, –
And some wad eat that want it;
But we hae meat, and we can eat,
Sae let the Lord be thankit.

~Robert Burns~

  1. Lovely! Especially the Eckhart one. (Bobby Burns’ name is a little astray. He should be last. I’ve heard that grace many a time. In fact I have kitchen towels and coasters with it.) Happy Thanksgiving!!
