No not that bird silly! The bird’s nest!
I’m pulling out the peeps!
Meg and I made these delectable little treats last weekend to share at a family gathering!
Aren’t they cute?
We had so much fun making them!
Megs favorite part was buttering up her hands so the Rice Krispie treats wouldn’t stick to them!
Wanna know how to make ’em?
Here’s what you’ll need…
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows
– OR –
4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies
Wax Paper or a cupcake pan
A bag of Cadbury’s Miniature Eggs
A box of peeps
(You can use coconut and food coloring to make more of a nest like appearance, but we opted not to)
Instructions
In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
Add KELLOGG’S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir with a buttered spatula until well coated.
Coat your hands in butter and start to mold the Rice Krispies into a nest shape.
We sprayed a cupcake pan and set the nests into it, which helped them keep a nice shape.
Next put a few Cadbury’s Eggs on top (usually 3 or 4) and top with your favorite colored peeps!
So what treats do you make at Easter time? What traditions do you and your family have?
To join our Friday Food Fight, post a picture of your favorite food, meal, snack
or drink. Of course, we’d love to see you enjoying your tasty treat, but you
don’t have to be in the picture. Then on Friday, post your drool inducing photo
and link up here.
Ha ha so cute. The Denver Post has an annual contest for diorama made with all the different types of Peeps. 1st place went to a Chilean Miner rescue diorama, 2nd place went to an Angry Birds depiction. Peeps are just fun!!!!

Oh, how freakin’ cute these are!!!!
They include just about everything I love about Easter candy.
My kids say I make the “bestest” (quoting them, BTW) krispie treats in the whole world; and those little Cadbury mini eggs are so addictive; plus Peeps ~ they are to DIE for… but I usually like to let them get stale before I eat them… MMMMMM
What a great recipe.
Please feel free to join our Recipe Swap Meet meme on Thursdays whenever you’d like. Something like this would be wonderful!
