So I wasn’t expecting to get up early and watch the Royal Wedding, but my hubby’s alarm woke me just in time to see the queen arriving at Westminster Abbey and Kate Middleton getting into the car. From that moment on I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen as it was all reminiscent of when I was a child, watching Prince William’s mother Diana make that same journey to marry Prince Charles. I didn’t realize how teary eyed it would make me or how nostalgic I would feel.
Kate looked exquisite in her dress, positively perfect, it was reported her dress was as elegant and simple as Grace Kelly’s dress when she wed Rainier III, Prince of Monaco.(Pictures found at Washinton Post)
Kate’s sister was also stunning when she escorted the children into Westminster Abbey.
William and Harry both were dashingly handsome, Will looking slightly nervous and Harry with his infamous cheeky grin.
Meg woke up to Kate walking into the church, said her dress was very pretty and then asked if Kate would become a princess today? It was actually really quite sweet as she asked other questions like…
“Is the queen like the principal (headmaster) of England?”
“What’s a royal wave?”
I felt myself well up when William told Kate she looked beautiful, giggled when he almost didn’t get the ring on her finger and I also had to chuckle when the camera panned to the queen who looked as though she’d nodded off!
I have to say I wasn’t a fan of Princess Beatrice’s hat, I thought it looked very Minnie Mouse-ish and her sister Princess Eugenie looked a bit like Helena Bonham Carter in Sweeney Todd.
But all in all it was a beautiful wedding that ended with two kisses on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, a tradition started by his mother, and an impressive fly over by Will’s friends who serve alongside him in the RAF.
I was glad Meg and I were able to watch history unfold.
So… for this weeks Food Fight Friday I’m serving up some silly KATEA and William tea bags and a Weight Watchers Chocolate Creme Cake!
I couldn’t help myself once I saw these tea bags I had to have them!
So did you watch the Royal Wedding? What was your favorite part?

Holy hot tea, Batman! Those tea bags are hilarious! And now you can say you teabagged Prince William on his wedding day. LMAO
I loved Kate’s dress, so classic and elegant. Such a beautiful ceremony! They looked truly happy. God bless them.

Kate’s dress is amazing, so elegantly beautiful.
Nailed it with this comment: Princess Eugenie looked a bit like Helena Bonham Carter in Sweeney Todd.
