Let’s get it started…

I haven’t posted on Hasay for ummm… well let’s just say a while.  Okay I’ll admit it, I’d fallen off the get fit wagon pretty hard.  Seriously, if a child had a candy bar I could see myself snatching it and telling them as they began to cry “Can it kid I’m doin’ you a favor!”

Well I’m happy to say it’s a new year and I’ve wiped the chocolate goo and donut dust from around my mouth.  A friend and I have  enlisted the help of  Bob Harper, Denise Austin, and some psycho boxing chick who makes it look WAY easier than it is to help us get our butts moving.

It’s only been a week, but it’s been giggles all the way, from our improvised exercise moves to our heart to heart chats.  It’s definitely been fun rekindling our old friendship and has me looking forward to working out.

So, it’s a new year and I’m back on the get fit wagon!  I’m not going to set any unrealistic goals, but… (channels Beyonce) I think I’m ready to get rid of this jelly… cause I wan’t my body to be bootylicius baby!

I wish you all success with your fitness goals in 2010.

I’m feeling good!!!

It’s time to let go of the things I can’t change and put the time into the things I can.  I’m feeling good about this year so I picked Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” as my Music Monday.   A good friend of mine posted on her Facebook the other day “You can’t change your past, but you can change your endings.”  So true!  So, I’m borrowing a quote from the great Albert Einstein to use as my motto this year “learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.”   It’s simple, but it works for me.

Goodbye 2009! Hello 2010!

I’m BACK!!! Holy crap batman it’s 2010 where has the time gone?  So as you can see, I decided I’m done with self hosting it just wasn’t for me, the technically challenged. 🙂  So I’m returning to good old, regular, I don’t have to pay for it, WordPress and it feels good to be home.  I did however keep my self hosted blog name so I’m no longer “My Life For The World To See” and am now “Gone Bananas”.

Things have been pretty busy around the Gone Bananas household.  For starters we had a lovely Christmas with both mine and hubby’s families.

My bestie Rachel who recently moved to Maryland came down with Kaya and spent a few days with us.

Oh and I finally got all my grants and student loans sorted out so I’m now enrolled in school finishing up my AA degree. Yikes!  So far so good though!  I’m enjoying  my classes and I have awesome instructors.

It’s been a good year!   I’m looking forward to 2010 and what it has in store for us.

Sunday Tea With The Family…

This past Sunday we all packed up in the car and headed down to my mums house for a big Sunday dinner.  Mum was in her element doing what she loves most, cooking away in the kitchen!  However, with a wee bit of encouragement,  managed to take a break to have  a cuppa and do a crossword with me.

Meg was loving all the Christmas decorations mum had put out and I told her how when we were little Grandma used to take us to get a real tree and how she’d play lots of Christmas music while we decorated it with tinsel.

I also told Meg how we used to hang our stockings from the mantelpiece and how we’d put out milk and cookies for Santa too.  Ummm, no Meg we didn’t do yoga at Christmas.

My sister and her boys arrived and we all sat down to dinner…

I even managed to pose for snap a wee shot of me too…

The house smelled wonderful, mum had cooked lamb or as hubby calls it crack on a stick, he loves the way my mum cooks lamb.  The sides were potatoes, and medley of roasted veggies.  Oh and her yummy gravy!!!

It was such lovely, no stress day and reminded me of Christmas growing up, such a warm, loving, and magical time.  I remember one year getting a blue bicycle and a doll with a red velvet dress and thinking they were the best gifts EVER!!!

We gathered the kids in front of the fireplace for a photo but it was really hard to get them all smiling and just when we thought we had it Meg did this…
